Work Experience
I am an accounting professional from India. I have nearly 8 years of experience. Throughout these 8 years, I have worked in 3 different organizations. My areas of expertise include bookkeeping, accounting, financial analysis, data analytics, external auditing and I also have some base in taxation. I also have experience working in a Big4 audit firm dealing with GCC clients. I have completed CA Intermediate and have done B.Com as well. My last corporate job was at BDO. Basically, in BDO I used to do auditing for US-based clients, in the technology sector, following US GAAP and PCAOB standards. I helped with planning and carrying out audit procedures. I also prepared and reviewed financial statements and supporting documents. The main tools that I used were auditing tools like BDO APT which was BDO specific and CaseWare. Additionally, I have also used Power BI and IDEA for performing data analysis. Using these tools, I was able to analyze large sets of data, identify risks, and spot any unusual trends in the client’s financials. Before that, I used to work for Ernst and Young. I was part of their assurance department. There I was basically dealing with Middle East clients. I have mainly provided audit support work for clients based in Qatar and UAE. While working there, I also have hands-on experience in preparing consolidated/ separate financial statements as per IFRS. I have also performed data analytics. Then I did a 3 year internship at a Chartered Accountancy firm. There, I had done wide variety of work ranging from book-keeping, accounting, tax audits, bank audits, stock audits, project report preparation.
